John Waite is a small business owner and strong community leader. He has owned Merlyn’s Comics & Games for 20 years.

He has served on the Downtown Business Improvement District board and is the current chair of the Spokane Regional Cable Advisory Board. He hosted a weekly radio show titled “Make Government Work” on KYRS Thin Air Community Radio.

A Spokane resident since 1973, John graduated from North Central in 1983. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in education and humanities from Eastern Washington University, then became a teacher and high school volleyball coach in District 81.
